Nobody knows what to do with the turtle
That washed ashore last week
I say we make him into soup
But my friends are vegan
So we’ll keep him as a pet
We’ll take him to the MET
We’ll introduce him to Cecelia Bartoli on the set
We’ll take him to the MOMA
Even though your ma
Thinks he will induce museum guards into a coma
Nobody knows what to do with the turtle
That sings La Boheme and likes Magritte
I say we make a leather purse
But my friends joined PETA
So we’ll keep him as a pet
We won’t go to the MET
Instead front row seats for Romeo and Juliet
We’ll go to central park
Where he can learn to bark
And we can play a real life game of dungeons and aardvarks
Nobody knows what to do with the turtle
That likes to quote Shakespeare
I say we give him to the sea
But my friends are adopt a turtle activists who’ve fallen in love with that thing
So I’ll keep him as a pet
I’ll keep him safe and wet
Once or twice a year I’ll even take him to the vet
I hope he finds a job
Or he might become kebab
It’s far less indigestion than a pet turtle snob
Nobody knows what to do with the turtle
That washed ashore last week
I say I’ve had it with this pet
I say I’ve had it with this pet
So, really you should find a new home, okay?
I can also drive you back to the shore on Friday…
And I guess you can come visit, too.
